Autumn's Only Chariot

[Baut Images: Autumn Moon]

Celestial light
As the Sun enters Libra,
A quarter moon
That's made of silver.

Autumnal Equinox
Of stories told,
How energy balances
For those with souls.

Ride the wind,
Ride the waves,
Ride the vibrations
In Autumn's only chariot.

Insidious Deception v2 Judy Collins edit

[Baut images: Vision of the Oligarch]

Insidious deception
Lies behind the tainted smiles,
And winks and nods
Of fetid humans,
Who haven't a clue
As to what being human means.

Takers, rapers, pillagers all,
Who've taken their ill gotten goods
To faraway lands, yet,
Pretend to support democracy,
Whilst taking from the poor
And giving to the rich.

Bastards, Sons of Satan,
Luciferian proteges,
Enemies of the people,
Who pirouette and curtsy
To an ignoble nobility,
With questionable credentials.

What a bunch of crap slingers!
Where's Louis XV?
Still living in DC I presume?
Time for a Cromwell
To kick all the oligarchs
Out on their ass!

Insidious deception
Lies behind the tainted smiles,
And winks and nods,
Of fetid humans,
Who haven't a clue
As to what being human means.

Why is it that humankind never, ever learns?

Why?

[Baut Images: Connectedness]

The Earth is a beautiful planet with so many things to see, from its oceans, lakes, mountains, rivers and streams, landscapes, to it's four seasons. During my lifetime, I have been fortunate to travel to Asia, Europe, and several places in North America. I have seen some wonderful, and perhaps not so wonderful things in this world of ours.

As I have traveled, my perception of the world shifted and broadened, and I came to the awareness that everything is connected. I became aware that every man, woman, child, plant, animal, fish, et cetera, as well as the oceans, rivers, lakes, land and sky are all interconnected. Unfortunately, not a lot of people feel the same way as I do. Osho says that, "99.9% of people are either asleep or drunk."

I have said on occasion, "I feel I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness," and that "...if we don't all start working together, for the mutual benefit of all humankind and the planet, then we, as a species, as well as the planet, will suffer and cease to exist as we know it today."

Sadly, only a few have listened to my words, and many people have let them go in one ear and out the other. Society has become, for the most part, a self-absorbed superficial population, who may give lip-sevice to one thing or another, but that's about it.

Over the past several months, I have tried to encourage a message of cooperation, but what I have learned is, that people really have no sincere interest in working together for the mutual benefit of anyone else, or the planet. They are, oftentimes, self-centered and self-serving, and may 'talk the talk,' but don't 'walk the walk.'

Is it so difficult to work together with others in harmony? Is it so difficult to acknowledge and promote someone else's work? Is it so difficult to be a human being?

It is said, "There are none so blind as those who will not see," and there is a lot of truth in those words. I found an interesting quote, a short while back, that goes along with all of this, and, interestingly, it comes from, believe it or not, Coronation Street, and that quote is, "We live in self-congratulatory times." That quote really says a lot about who we are as a society, and a people.

Osho writes, "Everything is connected. This connectedness is what is meant by the word Tao: the connectedness, the interconnectedness, the interdependence of all. Nobody is separate, hence ego is absurd. Only the whole can say "I": the parts should not say "I." If they have to say, they should say it only as a linguistic formality; but they should not claim the "I."

It may already be too late to change what humankind has done not only to itself, but the planet as well, I don't know. I have also written, that "...if things do not radically change quickly, Homo sapiens sapiens will go down, in history, as the most virulent species that has ever inhabited this planet. What other species maims, tortures, abuses, kills, wages ignorant wars based upon greed upon others of its own kind, and wrecks havoc upon the only planet it has to live upon? The worst thing about all of this is, that the majority of people have sat back, and allowed all of these atrocities to happen.

Oh, yes, there are a few who are, and have been, trying to change that, but the poison is already in our land, air, water, food and physical body.

"I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness."

"Tell me why?
Why?
Why, we can do nothin'.
Why? Why?
We can do nothin'.

How long
we sit and watch it!
Tell me why?
We can do,
We can do nothin'." Beissoul

Footnote: This blog was posted on July 20th. It is now some time since it went up, and as anyone can see, there has been minimal comment (pro or con) in regard to what has been presented in this article. That in itself is a 'big' message, and a significator that I am part of a malignant species that is not only destroying itself, but the very planet it lives on. Raise a glass to Homo sapiens moronus, the most 'self-centered' and 'oblivious' species to inhabit Planet Earth.

Circle Dancing

This presention is in 'triplet' form.
It consists of an image/photograph, poem/prose, and video.

[Baut Images: Le Danse]

Circle dancing.
Around you go
In egocentric circles.

Spinning ever onward,
As Mother Earth,
Speaks only of her woe.

Circle dancing.
Ever expanding
In egocentric circles.

Our fate is determined
By one another,
Yet, who will stop to bother?

Circle dancing.
Up and around,
In egocentric circles.

Seems that humankind
Will never learn,
Until its cities burn.

Circle dancing.
Forward then back,
In egocentric circles.

As the titan sinks,
You ignore the imploring,
Of children who need a drink.

Circle Dancing.
Around and around you go,
'Til you're lying in the snow!

Circle dancing...

Circle dancing...

Circle damcing...

"As the world falls down..."

❀ Butterfly Daze w/Symbiosis ❀

[Baut Images: Symbiosis]

Many ancient cultures and societies have viewed

the butterfly as a symbol of transformation and change,
because of its impressive process of metamorphosis.

Butterfly Daze

Resplendent in all of it's beauty
The butterfly does not strut about
Seeking it's own praise or glory.

It does not sit for hours waiting to be liked,
Or seek out others in the meadow
To tell it how wonderful and grand it is.

The butterfly simply 'is.'
And as with all things in nature;
A part of the passing loveliness of this world.

The humble butterfly brings
Faithfulness to the flowers,
And gives, as it is given to in return.

❀ Symbiosis
A Gathering

A gathering of butterflies,
Traveling from flower to flower,
Sharing with each other, hour after hour.

A gathering of butterflies,
Traversing the skies and fields,
Without any need for shields.
A gathering of butterflies,

In synchronous motion
Traveling without any commotion.

"Love is like a butterfly: It goes where it pleases,
and it pleases wherever it goes." Unknown

ARCANUM XVI (The Tower)

[Baut Images: The Tower or The Lightening]

ARCANUM XVI
Description:
A tower is decapitated by a thunderbolt.
Misery, distress, indigence,

adversity, calamity, deception, ruin.

The chastisement of pride.

A crowned and uncrowned man are
precipitated from the tower,
falling down with the rest of the debris.

Falling.
Falling.
Falling in slow motion,
The Bill of Rights falls.

Falling.
Falling.
Falling in slow motion,
The Constitution falls.

Falling.
Falling.
Falling in slow motion
The citizenry falls.

Falling.
Falling.
Falling in slow motion
The plutocracy falls.

Falling.
Falling.
Falling in slow motion,
The emperor falls.

Falling.
Falling.
Falling in slow motion.
 The planet falls.

The Tower is Falling

Trapped Souls

[Baut Images: Soul Flight]

She says, "I want my freedom!"
He says, "You can never be truly free."
She says, "That's not true."
He says, "Yes, it is."
She says, "What do you mean?"
He says, "Youre a soul trapped inside a physical body."
She says, "You're crazy!"

He says, "Am I now?"

Dance.
Dance the dance.
Dance the dance of the soul.

We've been dancing since time began,
And it's so very long ago,
That now we've forgotten.

We've forgotten who we are,
Simply, souls dancing,
Dancing through time and space.

We've forgotten we were
To be caretakers of this sacred place,
And keepers of divine grace.

Now, we must wake-up.
Wake-up soon, before it's too late,
And perhaps change our disastrous fate.

Dance the dance of the soul.
Dance the dance.
Dance.

She says, "Yes, you are!"
He says, "When you leave the physical you're truly free."
She says, "How's that?"
He says, "These shells we live in are only temporary."
She says, "What have you been smoking?"
He says, "Not smoking, waking-up!"
She says, "I don't want to wake-up!"
He says, "Go deep, deep inside, and r-e-m-e-m-b-e-r..."

Sirens Wail!

[Baut Images: Scratch the Sky]

Sirens wail!
Lights are flashing!
No one heeds the call!

No one really cares.
Hypnotized from childhood.
Don't do that!
Do this!

Suck on a binky.
It's so soothing.
There's plastic in your blood.
Toxins in your soup.

Drink swill from the tap.
It's better for you.
It's full of fluoride.
Full of chemicals.

Fast food.
French fries.
Cola.
Wendy loves you.

Have some herbal tea.
Whilst 1.3 million street children weep.
Fed Res sends 700-800 billion to the EU.
And you buy a new home for 1.3 million.

Learn to write.
Write some more.
Even though it's crap.
There's applause at the door.

Liars!
Hypocrites!
Ego driven!
Self-deluded!

Within your nest of thorns.
Don't come too close.
Don't dream in colour.
Don't explore creativity.

Just sit there.
Do the same old thing.
Day after day after day.
Do nothing for anyone else.

Limit yourself.
Limit your creativity.
Get rid of your paints.
Hide in your fracking tackle box.

No one heeds the call.
Lights are flashing.
Sirens wail.

Roger Allen Baut

We laughed as the sun went down,
Sang songs of a dying Earth,
And danced until the moon rose
For the very last time. RAB

Art Takes Times Square

[Baut Images: The Gate]

Everyone has a certain creative ability, or an innate sense of art, that may be expressed through the written word, paint brush, chalk, chisel, pen, camera, et cetera. Those who claim to not have this creative ability, I believe, have not had it nurtured, or allowed to grow. It is there, within, if one but only looks and realizes, as creativity, I believe, is an aspect of the human soul, and a gift from its creator.

The world that we live on is a work of art itself. The seasons, trees, landscapes, lakes, streams, oceans, plant and animal life all have their individual beauty and may be viewed as art. Earth is, indeed, a garden planet, ready for the artist’s canvas or photographer’s camera. One does not need to travel a thousand miles to paint a picture, or take a photograph, as oftentimes an image is waiting right around the corner.

So, when I came across Art Takes Times Square, I thought what a wonderful opportunity for artists. What a wonderful opportunity for people to experience all different types of images of art. What a wonderful opportunity for people to see the work of different artists with whom they might not be familiar, and perhaps those viewers might be inspired into exploring new avenues of creativity in their own lives.

Throughout history, it has been the artists and artisans who have inspired humankind to grow, and look beyond the mundane. It is the artists and artisans who have given us a renaissance when it was so sorely needed, and it is a renaissance we could all benefit from now, at this particular time and place.

Art Takes Times Square is an innovative and creative project by Chashama and the Times Square Alliance working with Artists Wanted to present an exhibition of artists, photographers and designers from around the world in an online portfolio, and for the winner, an inclusion in a limited edition book, Art in Times Square, their work displayed on a billboard in Times Square, and a cash prize.

This selection is assisted by viewers who ‘collect’ their favorite artists, and help decide who will be displayed on the massive billboards of Times Square this summer. The highest collected artists will have their submissions reviewed by Chashama and Artists Wanted to determine a Grand Prize winner. But, in essence, all the entrants are 'winners' since they are artists presenting their work to a world of viewers.

Please take a look at my Portfolio: Roger Allen Baut, or enter through the Torii below, and if you like what you see, please hit the collect (*) and share links at the top of the page! Your support, and share, would be very much appreciated!

Special thanks to Natasha Head The Tashtoo Parlour for bringing Art Takes New York to my attention.

“The artist's world is limitless. It can be found anywhere, far from where one lives or a few feet away. It is always on one’s doorstep.” Paul Strand

Sunset: including Invocation to Kāli काली

[Baut Images: Sylvan Lake Sunset]

Sunset.
Sun is setting.
Sun is setting fire.
Sun is setting fire to the Earth.

I am the fire
that burns through
the tree limbs
of late October.

Come Kāli oh goddess of time and change

I am the celestial fire
and I am here
having traveled the waves of time
from space to space.

Come Kāli and dance the Dance of Ages

I am the fire
and Sword of Kāli
that burns and purifies
everything into the Satya Yuga.

Come Kāli and right the wrongs of humankind

I am the celestial fire
that strikes down the hatred
and fear and violence
purifying them with raw white heat.

Come Kāli and shape the Earth anew

I am the fire
that burns through
the tree limbs
of early April.

Sunset.
Sun is setting.
Sun is setting fire.
Sun is setting fire to the Earth.

Miranda

[Baut Images: Tiny Dancer (Ebony Jewelwing)]

They call her Miranda
she's a tiny dancer
flitting from floor to floor.

She dances and whirls
Priouettes and twirls
floating like a cloud on the air.

The audience claps
as she ends her act
then starts up again, anew.

This time she's faster
as silver flashes
up around, then down to the ground.

But none hardly see
as her daggers she sheaths
and puts them well out of sight.

For who'd ever know
from Miranda's warm glow
that she had another agenda.

Many Lives

[Baut Images: Pathless Path]

How many paths do we travel in one life?
How many roles do we play in one life?
How many lives do we live in one life?

And yet, so many do not see
How each 'now' moment,
How each 'new' experience,
Leads them from there, to here.

And how every choice shapes us
Into who we are today.
Like the potter, who shapes
The clay on the wheel; round and round.

Molding and shaping.
Shaping and molding.
Molding and shaping.
Shaping and molding.

Every choice that we make,
A door opens to a new future,
That goes on shaping
Us into, who we are today.

How many roads have we driven in one life?
How many people have we passed by in one life?
How many lives do we live in one life?

Many lives...

Bleak Winter

[Baut Images: Winter Collage]

Oh, bleak Winter,
From where have you come
To taunt us with bygone days
Of snowfields in the sun.

Bleak Winter with gray skies.
Branches scratching the Light
From out the day
And into night.

Bleak Winter with little snow.
A travesty of a season
Carved in ashes
For no reason.

Bleak Winter with perfidious weather.
Leaving us to ponder
Where Jack Frost has gone
In a mood so very somber.

Bleak Winter like humankind.
Bereft of integrity
Forgotten values
Living the life of a banditti.

Oh, bleak Winter,
The tombstone cracks
Under the very pressure
Of a single snowflake's track.
