Winter Solstice

Baut Images: Sudden Snow

Sudden snow.
A pause.
An inhalation.
Waiting.
Watching.
The planet stirs.
Solar storm warning.

Winter Solstice.
Ice knives fly.
Too late.
No cover.
Homeland insecurity.
Fear merchants.
No recompense for the rich.

Sudden snow.
A pause.
An exhalation.
St. Vitus dances.
Bankers leap from windows.
Jeremiah reads Lamentations.
The city lays deserted.

Roger Allen Baut

  1. snow oft makes me pause...in its hushed sounds...but this is about much more than that...and if it causes those in power to shake or jump, is it a bad thing? smiles.

  3. Hey Brian! Thanks for stopping by! Yes, I've had many wonderful experiences with the first/sudden snow falls, that are wonderful!

Nah, not a 'bad' thing, since many of those 'in' power need a wake up call! If we look at Homo sapiens track record it's not very good, and seems more 'self-destructive' than any thing else. Sad!

    Thanks again!

  5. So sad, so true. Striking words, photo and video, as always here. Too bad people are so very easily manipulated against their own best interests.

  6. ...so true hedgewitch and so unfortunate people are so easily manipulated...they just are not 'aware,' and methinks that's the way they like it! Thanks for stopping by and leaving your thoughts! Always appreciated!

  8. Roger, some wonderful allusions in here. Really nice pace and rhythm. I haven't heard Siouxsie Sioux in such a long time, was really a blast from the past for me. Really enjoyed.

  10. Thanks Fred! Glad you enjoyed "Winter Solstice" and Siouxsie Sue! I was wandering around YouTube and suddenly there she was, and "Cities in Dust" seemed to fit so nicely! Talk about the good old days! Siouxsie Sue, The Cure, New Order, Depeche Mode...Roger ☺
