Dark Skies

[Baut Images: Dark Skies]

Dark the skies.
Dark the clouds.
Dark the Age.
Dark the thoughts.
Dark the leaders.

All the darkness
One could want!
Spawned
By witch hunts,
Inquisitions,
Persecutions,
Corruption,
Greed,
Intolerance,
Torture,
Abuse,
Ignorance,
Bigotry,
And Wars.

Dark the leaders.
Dark the thoughts.
Dark the Age.
Dark the clouds.
Dark the skies.

Roger Allen Baut

and yet...

"Don't let
The eyes of sadness
Reflect on
Your inner soul
Let the Light shine through
Let the Light shine.

And deliver you through
The passages of life."

Delerium

  5. Everything does seem rather dreary. I'd say greed brings it forth above all else though. Liked how you just shoved it all out there and let it run, great piece.

  6. Yes, Pat, everything does seem rather dreary, and when I get a cloudy day here, just seems drearier. And, yes, greed, seems to be at the core of all our challenges.

I also like the way you phrased that comment...someone else said something similar to thay when I posted it on Facebook; about putting it all out there!

Thanks again, and appreciate your thoughts!

  7. Roger - if we could bottle your outlook - i would gladly become a meglomanic dictator - take over the world and make everyone drink your juice - then retire coz the planet would be just swwwweeeeettttt!

  8. Well, thank you so much for your thougtful and kind words...they are sincerely appreciated 'antichamber'!

Not sure about being a 'guru' though... I just follow where intuition and the universe guide me, and share what I find with others...

    Thanks again,
    Roger ☺

  12. Hey Brian...yes, it is the dark and stark rality of our times, but the ancients have always claimed that the 'Light' overcomes the darkness...

It is the perpetual dance of Light and Dark...all the wisdom teachings of the ages points to it! According to the Vedic. this is the Kali-Yuga, or Age of Iron...the densestand most troublesome time for mankind...but when the Kali Yuga is completed it will move to the Satya-Yuga or Golden Age.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts Brian! Sincerely appreciated!

  13. So dark in the beginning, but you brought us back around to hope and peace before sending us on our way :)

  14. Hi Lori!

Thanks for stopping by! Yes, it started out in the Dark but as it emerged, and I was looking for a compatible video, 'Apparition' by Delerium jumped right out...and, the lyrics seemed to pull it all together, completing my 'triplet'.

Plus, I liked the positive end to the whole thing! But, of course, that is how it will be...a Dark Age that comes into an Age of Light!

    Thanks again,
    Roger ☺

  15. Hello again, ayala!

Nice to see you back and sharing your thoughts. Definitly appreciate you doing that...and, yes, a bit dark at the beginning, but ten 'hopeful' at the end...

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

    Take gentle care,
    Roger ☺

  18. A little hope is always there, but man has indeed breathed much darkness into the world, much pain...it is a sad relationship with it we have.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hey Chris! Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comment; appreciated! Yes, indeed, "A little hope is always there," and that's why I included the video...it seems these dark times always come and are whixked away by the light. Yin and Yang interplay perhaps. But, perhaps one day...when humankind has evolved beyond materialism, greed, and war...the light will be eternal!

Oh, and I'm enjoying your photos...makes me want to be there...

Take gentle care Chris, and thanks again!

  20. Roger, your piece is great, like it a lot. Many times Anaphora can get on one's nerves, but you knocked it out of the park here in this ever timely verse. I used to listen to delirium back a few years, very nice touch here, great song. Thanks for the words and music

And very pleased you think my piece was great and I "knocked it out of the park." Made the day a little brighter!

  26. Awesome poem! I liked how the last stanza 'unraveled' in the opposite order of the first stanza ... really nice ... and even the 'fine print' extra that I nearly missed ... even though there is some darkness, don't let yourself be defined by it, but rather by the Light within... awesome! <3

  27. Thanks so much for stopping by and viewing my work 'bajanpoet' I really appreciate it; as well as your comments. Really pleased you explored all of it...and found the small print...I like to do that and the 'triplets' of image/poem/video to see how 'really' observant people are...glad you found it and the message...

"...there is some darkness, don't let yourself be defined by it, but rather by the Light within..."

...and happy your assessment was "...awesome!"

    Thanks again!
