[Baut Images: Tiny Dancer (Ebony Jewelwing)] |
They call her Miranda
she's a tiny dancer
flitting from floor to floor.
She dances and whirls
Priouettes and twirls
she's a tiny dancer
flitting from floor to floor.
She dances and whirls
Priouettes and twirls
floating like a cloud on the air.
The audience claps
as she ends her act
then starts up again, anew.
This time she's faster
as silver flashes
up around, then down to the ground.
But none hardly see
as her daggers she sheaths
and puts them well out of sight.
For who'd ever know
from Miranda's warm glow
that she had another agenda.
2012 Roger Allen Baut
Please note: This is a 'triplet' of image, poem and video. Please view all three as one compositon.
A triple treat! Thoroughly enjoyed, Mark
ReplyDeleteGlad you like my, 'triple treat!' I really enjoy working with this form of presentation!

I really do know your name, Roger. I have no idea why I typed Mark on my cell phone. Thanks for not calling me out on that oops.
DeleteHAHAHA Beth! It's all good! I was wondering, but then thought there must be a reason for it. It is what it is...maybe that's my name in my next life and you were tuning into it. As Shakespeare said, "There are many things in heaven and earth Horatio, than are dreamt of in our philiosopy," or some such think! Nice to hear from you again, Beth! Roger ☺
Deleteeeep...gotta watch those dancers...i am married to one...haha...luckily she keeps knive sheethed...most of the time...lovely imagery in this roger...i enjoy watching the dance...
ReplyDelete...so true Brian! Glad you enjoyed this composition...I enjoy watching the dance too! Thanks for stopping by and leaving your thoughts!

Roger, awesome pic, I've tried getting a pic of nature interactive before, but every time I catch a bee on a flower or whatnot I go and rush to get my camera and it's gone.-probably should carry it around more-lol- awesome pic- the buddha bar video was pretty cool, reminded me of Enigma slightly, and the piece had a good flow to it, as usual I love the little things in poetry and I love the she sheaths line, really well done here. All three do work well together. Thanks
ReplyDelete...and thank you too Fred! Glad you liked the composition! Miranda came out of no where and was fortunate to connect the 'triplet!'
DeleteI really quite fortunate with the photos Fred. They're definately gifts from the universe. Sometimes, I see a photo after it's been taken and wonder where in the heck it came from...thanks again!
Roger ☺
Well now I know that no matter their dancing flow to watch my back for a sneak attack..haha...great verse.
ReplyDelete...thanks for stopping by and leaving your thoughts Pat. Glad you liked it!

Nicely done Roger - I never turn my back on the lady with a hidden agenda - the knife proof vest is best: some nice dynamics in here Roger. all the best buddy :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Arron! Seems likes lots of people have 'hidden' agendas these days...just hope they keep their knives sheathed.
DeleteThanks for stopping by! Great to see yah!
Roger ☺
Lovely poem!
ReplyDeleteThanks Madeline, appreciate your sentiments and stopping by! Best regards, Roger ☺
DeleteRoger, this is a wonderful work of art! All of it is so beautiful together! An image to die for, a magnificent poem, and a beautiful song! Thank you for all three!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and sharing your thoughts Bradley! They were certainly appreciated! Glad you resonated to the composition of the triplet, and of course you are quite welcome!

Your poem conjured up several images for me(an old Phil Ochs song called 'Miranda,' the much less obscure Elton john reference, among others) The dragonfly dances in a world we can never know, and so often do our lovers. Perfect trifecta of picture, poem and video.
ReplyDeleteHi Joy! So very nice to see you've stopped by and shared your thoughts with me! So happy you liked the 'trifecta.' Your input was very much appreciated, because a lot of times, I'm not really quite sure how my compositions are perceived.
DeleteI shall have to go into my YouTube channel and look for Phil Ochs 'Miranda,' it will be great listening to it.
Always a pleasure to connect with you across time and space, but as the Tao says, "there is no time and space." So, here we are! Thanks again!

ReplyDeleteHi again Laurie! Glad you 'loved' this offering. Great to hear that your daughter's a dancer...so wonderfully creative. Yes, that is one of my favorite images too. I've always entitled it "Tiny Dancer."
