[Baut images: Vision of the Oligarch] |
Insidious deception
Lies behind the tainted smiles,
And winks and nods
Of fetid humans,
Who haven't a clue
As to what being human means.
Takers, rapers, pillagers all,
Who've taken their ill gotten goods
To faraway lands, yet,
Pretend to support democracy,
Whilst taking from the poor
And giving to the rich.
Bastards, Sons of Satan,
Luciferian proteges,
Enemies of the people,
Who pirouette and curtsy
To an ignoble nobility,
With questionable credentials.
What a bunch of crap slingers!
Where's Louis XV?
Still living in DC I presume?
Time for a Cromwell
To kick all the oligarchs
Out on their ass!
Insidious deception
Lies behind the tainted smiles,
And winks and nods,
Of fetid humans,
Who haven't a clue
As to what being human means.
2012 Roger Allen Baut
Note: This is in poetic triplet form. As you view,
please take all three parts into consideration.
please take all three parts into consideration.
Why is it that humankind never, ever learns?
This is really strong really good. You have captured the signs of the times in this one, Roger. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts Steve! I really appreciate it, and that you felt, "You have captured the signs of the times in this one..." Thanks again, Roger ☺
DeleteTake the bull by the horns, indeed! Love how you wrapped this one up with such a powerful repetition...a fantastic presentation, Roger...really feel your frustration on this one...but trust you've been responsible for waking more than one!
ReplyDeleteHey there Natasha! Great to get your thoughts and perspectives on my latest triplet, and happy you found this, "...a fantastic presentation..." and yes, there was a lot of frustration running through it. Glad to know I've woken a few people up. It does help a bit! Just hope that before to long our species will evolve beyond it's barbarism! Thank you!
DeleteRoger ☺
The rebel in me just loves this!! Spot on! And what a well crafted piece--opening stanza just grabbed me
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you so much Audrey! I really appreciate your thoughts, and am so pleased you found this to be a "...well crafted piece! Thanks again, Roger ☺
Deletewoohoo....love a good political poem...and this one has the teeth of truth...ugh....but one will get voted in...not one we pick but one we are given the choice between....all for their gain....and what of us....
ReplyDeleteHey Brian! Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comment! Glad you "...love a good political poem." I agree with everything you say, and of course, "...what of us..." Thanks again, Roger ☺
DeletePowerful poem - and so many fall for their deceptions
ReplyDeleteThank you Marsha! Appreciate you stopping by and letting me know you found my composition a "Powerful poem..." I really appreciate your sentiments!
DeleteRoger ☺
Yes, powerful and I share your observations. I feel my blood beginning to simmer...don't get me started...oh, too late, I'm already deep in it. I know it's really no good for me to stay in a state of anger...but these ugly politics really do get me riled up. I try to channel that energy by taking positive actions...but still..
ReplyDeleteHi Bodhirose! Thank you for visiting and seeing my triplet "Insidious Deception, and am pleased to learn, "...I share your observations." I also resonate to what you say, "...these ugly politics really do get me riled up." It seems like our society is regressing rather than 'progressing,' like we have slid into a Dark Age of negativity that once encompassed Europe. I hope that others 'wake-up' soon, and start to stop all of the damage being done to the planet and our own species. Anywho, thanks again, and perhaps a new age of peace and wisdom will rise like the phoenix...we can only hope!
DeleteFiat Lux,
Roger ☺
Nice remix, so to speak, from the one you posted a day or so ago, or at least when I read it. Strong, strong writing, such an effective reflective imagery captured here. your triplet form is very powerful when used as you do. Thanks
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you Fred! Yes, the first was version 1, and something just encouraged me to make a version 2 with Judy Collins. Glad you like it, and feel, "...triplet form is very powerful when used as you do." Appreciate you stopping by and leaving your comment, thanks again!
DeleteBest regards,
Roger ☺
You're suffering election campaign ignobilities I fear... it is horrendous to hear the pure self-seeking spouting from those squeaky-clean mouths... Your poem made me think of elections, lies and how those in power often so little deserve it.
ReplyDeleteI like the structure and condensed ire, especially effective in the last two stanzas for me.
Hi Becky! Thanks for stopping by and leaving your thoughts! Glad you "...like the structure and condensed ire." I agree "it is horrendous to hear the pure self-seeking spouting from those squeaky-clean mouths..." We live in challenging times to be sure! Thanks again!
DeleteBest regards,
Roger ☺
ReplyDeleteHey Roger . . .
this is tight and hard and
it makes me want to kick up shit!!!
(in a poetic way you understand?)
making anger and frustration poetic
is key to becoming . . .
NOW LETS KICK UP SOME SHIT!!!! :D
Arron! So good to see you mate! ☺ Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving your comment! Glad you found, "this is tight and hard and it makes me want to kick up shit!!!"
DeleteI am really fed up with all the bullshit that's being put out by the oligarchs! Time to take them to task and get the world put back together!
Time for humankind to fracking 'evolve' out of it's barbaric and greedy state!

Roger ☺
